The Geotech Ram piston sampler, AH55, is designed for taking disturbed samples Ø40 mm in coarse soils, without the use of borehole casings, in preliminary soil investigations.

The sampler is rammed into the ground by hammering with a sledgehammer without rotation, or more commonly with a hydraulic percussion hammer on a geotechnical sounding rig. Afterwards it is pulled from the ground with a jack or with a pull-up force of a geotechnical sounding rig.
