The business concept of Geotech, in full Ingenjörsfirman Geotech AB, is the development, production and sale of measuring equipment within field geotechnics.

Geotech develops, designs and manufactures a wide range of equipment for geotechnical investigation. From development to final product we emphasize product features like quality, easy-to-use and cost effectiveness for the customer.

The company has its roots at the Chalmers University of Technology where, during the 50´s, a registering vane instrument was developed. This instrument, later named Nilcon, was the foundation for the company Jonell & Nilsson which in 1970 changed its name to Ingenjörsfirman Geotech AB.

During the 70´s the first rigs were developed intended for probes and vane test only but were soon followed by rigs for a wider purpose. At the end of the 70´s the first digital Cone Penetration Test equipment with cordless data transmission was developed.
